I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). I am an applied microeconomist, with a primary focus on labor and household economics, but also studying topics in education, development and political economics.

My research applies empirical techniques to study how individuals’ demographic characteristics, human capital investments, and fertility choices impact their outcomes, including household structure, time allocation, education and labor market outcomes. I am further interested in how these choices and outcomes are shaped by cultural factors, gender norms and public policies.
